Growing exports

International trade can be one of the most important drivers of business growth. Our expert knowledge enables us to work with businesses seeking to access or further develop global markets to drive their profitability and expansion.

We’ve been proud to be a UK Trade and Investment and now a Department for International Trade (DIT) delivery partner since 2007, supporting the Government’s export strategy. Under the DIT brand, we offer a number of key services that can be tailored to meet the needs of your business:

  • overseas market intelligence and market selection advice
  • practical one to one support from expert trade advisers
  • access to information, contacts, advice and support through overseas business networks in over 100 markets
  • connections to major contract purchasers alongside opportunities to explore new markets via trade missions and country visits
  • financial support for trade development activity that will result in export sales such as participation in overseas trade fairs and exhibitions, market visits and consultancy support
  • online information and email alerts highlighting export opportunities, major international contracts, joint ventures and partnerships.

Some of our export activity is delivered in conjunction with Midlands Engine

Opportunity - EU Exit Advisers

As part of our work for Business Lincolnshire, EMB is working with a number of Growth Hubs in the East Midlands to make available specialist consultancy for businesses on a range of subjects related to EU exit. The aim of this work is to ensure that businesses have access to information, advice and support to enable them to be as ready as possible for the UK’s exit from the EU.

We are therefore seeking to establish a framework of suppliers who can deliver specialist advice to businesses in the following Local Enterprise Partnership areas:

  • Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire (D2N2)
  • Leicester and Leicestershire (LLEP)
  • Greater Lincolnshire (GLLEP)

The areas of specialist advice that we are particularly seeking to provide through this framework are:

  • Risk Management: Specialist advice to identify and manage risks arising from UK’s exit from the EU;
  • Managing contracts and intellectual property: Specialist advice for businesses to identify potential issues in existing contracts with customers, suppliers and other parties;
  • Supply Chain Analysis: Specialist advice to support businesses to examine their supply chain and identify areas of risk, such as suppliers in the EU;
  • Workforce: Specialist advice for businesses that employ citizens from European Economic Area (EEA) countries or who transfer staff between the EU and the UK;
  • Data: Specialist advice for businesses that process the personal data of citizens of EEA countries, and;
  • Customs: Specialist advice for businesses that import or export goods to help them understand and be ready for any changes in customs declarations.

We are however also interested to hear from suppliers that believe that they have relevant expertise in other EU Exit related areas.
