Business planning support for Amber Care
Amber Care is a domiciliary care provider based in Market Rasen, offering 24/7 health and social care, 365 days a year.
The idea for Amber Care was born in October 2012, but the company didn’t officially start until late 2013 when mother and son Bronia and Jack, accessed support from Business Lincolnshire. At this point, Amber Care was in an early development stage. Jack was finishing his University degree studying business and management and Bronia was working full time in the NHS.
Bronia attended a local 4-day business training workshop where she met David Hawkins, a Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub adviser, who introduced her to the Growth Lincolnshire Programme. His advice helped create a business plan, targets, back up plans and strategies. David also offered moral support and put Bronia in touch with other advisers who could offer expert advice in specialist areas. The support gave Bronia and Jack confidence in business management but more crucially helped them to identify their USP which has helped them focus their efforts and continue to grow their business.
Since these early days, Amber Care has expanded and now boasts a team of twenty. The business is continuing to develop and improve its already high standards of care.
East Midlands Business Ltd, part of the EMB Group works under contract to Lincolnshire County Council to provide Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub with Growth Hub advisers, scale up support and business events.
